Services for Joe Casey


CASEY, Patrick J. Of Worcester, Patrick J. Casey, 65, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 30, 2018 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester. He was born and raised in Cambridge, the son of Catherine (Sugrue) and the late John Casey, and had lived in Worcester for over 35 years. Patrick graduated from Boston College High School with the class of 1971 and went on to study at UMass Amherst where he earned a Bachelor of Science. He met the love of his life, Candace Palley, and the couple married in 1983, before settling in Worcester. For over 20 years Patrick owned and managed Commonwealth Office Furniture in Worcester before retiring in 2012. Patrick was an avid Patriots fan and proudly embraced his Irish heritage, but what he was most passionate about was his family. He was overjoyed to be a grandfather and was looking forward to sharing his love and life's experiences with his grandsons. He will be greatly missed. Patrick is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Candace (Palley) Casey of Worcester; his mother, Catherine (Sugrue) Casey of Cambridge; his sons, Benjamin Casey and his wife, Brianne of Alexandria, VA and Alexander Casey of Brooklyn, NY; his grandsons, Harrison and Cullen Casey; his sisters, Kathleen Masucci and her husband, Richard of Winthrop, Peggy Casey-Mederios and her husband, Frank Mederios of Winthrop, and Arlene Casey of Winthrop; his brother, John Casey and his wife, Gayle of Boxford; as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Patrick's life with the Casey family from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6th at Saint Paul's Church, 29 Mount Auburn St., Cambridge.
