Obituary for Richard Forsythe


Beverly - Richard, W. ‘Rich’ Forsythe, 66, of Beverly, formerly of Cambridge, died Thursday, March 19,2015 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. The beloved son of Francis & Inez Forsythe of Cambridge. Richard is survived by his daughter Gretchen Bradley and her husband Paul, and son Brett Forsythe, of Beverly. Richard was the proud grandfather of Mason Bradley of Beverly who endearingly called him Papa.He is also survived by his former wife Greta Morrison of Wenham and loving companion Meryl Zassman of Beverly. A loving brother of Carol Scott of Falmouth, Frances Aronis of Billerica, David Forsythe of Reading, and Judith Goodwin of San Diego, CA. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Richard was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Retired from a career in Information Technology, employed by American Biltrite, Wang Laboratories, and Mellon Financial Services, and most recently Kaiser Systems in Beverly. He was an avid sports fan and faithful follower of the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots and the Celtics. He loved life and was a dear friend to many. He enjoyed music, the arts, his walks around Beverly, playing darts with his son, singing Karaoke, and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the ICC of Beverly. He had kind eyes and a smile that would warm your heart. He will be truly missed by all who loved him.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch St. Beverly, Wednesday, March 25, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Beverly.
